A Little Help From My Friends

I’m back!

I think it’s been about two weeks since I’ve posted. I know I pretty much logged off of everything except Instagram, which means you should be following me there if you want to know where I go when I disappear.

Spring Break came and went, and I suppose I just needed a little more time to lounge around in my pajamas with the family.

But Stasha has brought me back. And not just because I get to pick next week’s topic, however, that was some seriously great motivation!

This week’s Monday Listicles comes from Terri of Terri’s Little Corner and here it goes:

10 Things That Make My Life Easier

1. My iPhone alarm – My schedule requires creative napping and is there any other alarm in the world that will set four different times for the ridiculously odd hours I need to have programmed?

2. My DVR – I bought my first one, a Tivo, after Asher was born so I wouldn’t miss the last season of friends. I can’t imagine ever going back to watching TV on someone else’s schedule.

3. Amazon – I haven’t had to send a gift from the Post Office since the family discovered Amazon and their amazing wish lists!

4. Spring/Summer Dresses – As easy as pajamas, but they make it look like you really tried.

5. Netflix – Same as the DVR, except I don’t even have to record anything. I can just wait until the series is over and then watch at my leisure, or all in one week, depending on how addicted I become.

6. Food Delivery – I don’t particularly enjoy cooking. Especially on nights after I’ve gone without sleep, or on nights I don’t have to work, or whenever Elijah doesn’t feel like cooking. I love any place that’s willing to “deliver me.”

7. Shazam – This little gem of an app makes me seem just a tad cooler than I actually am and has really helped me shape my running playlists through the years.

8. Boxed Wine – I’m dead serious. It’s not all crap, and it sure beats having to remember to vacuum seal and cork whatever you opened for dinner (if there’s any left!)

9. GPS – Mostly because I suck at directions and am incapable of planning my route on a map while sitting at a stoplight.

10. Texting – Is there any better way to communicate with someone without actually speaking? Also, it keeps us from yelling to each other when we’re in different rooms.

And now…

For next week, I’d love to hear a list of your 10 Guilty Pleasures. If you’re anything like me it’ll read something like “TV – I spent 20 hours this week watching the entire first season of Friday Night Lights.” So please be honest and don’t leave me hanging on this one.

See you next Monday. I can’t wait to hear what helps every one get through their day!

Everything on this list (except maybe the boxed wine, but I’ve been meaning to try it) is something that I use Every. Single. Day. Isn’t technology the BEST?

Also, great topic for next week!

Hey girl! I’m so glad you can relate to my list. Now, grab you a box of Big House Red (or White if that’s your preference) and join me in the boxed wine takeover!

Shazam-never herd of it, must check it out. I am always amazed by your work schedule. You brave lady! watching the show as it airs is so 90’s 🙂
Love the topic, thank you my friend!!!

I hoped I picked a topic that people will enjoy writing about. I want to have a good turnout for you. 🙂

Shazam is an app that you can use to tell you the name of the artist and song title of whatever you’re listening to. I’ve even used it to tag songs on movies and TV shows. Something I never knew I needed until I got it!

10 guilty pleasures – that’s awesome for next week, I can’t wait and I will be honest! This is a great list. Sundresses are the best, totally comfy but you do still look put together, even just with flip flops and a cute purse. My son always gets very confused when we watch live t.v. and can’t fast forward through commercials – haha! DVR and Netflix, he doesn’t even remember life without them and I can’t image it anymore 🙂

So you look put together all year long? I still succumb to yoga pants and sweatshirts during the winter, but Texas has such short winters it’s not too damaging to my “put-together” reputation.

    Glad you’re back!
    Love the sundress!
If we had a tv I’d love tivo too!
BTW you are the only follower I have on Instagram and it is so very sweet when I post a photo and see “Miss Marina Star liked your photo!” I don’t use it properly so I’m not quite sure how to follow people but next time I’m up there I will try – if I’m not already following you.
Gah – all this tech-stuff to keep up with!
PS: Are you going to come link up with us for Blog Bash? I hope so!

It’s nice to be missed! I saw a little of your Blog Bash stuff on Twitter, it sounds like such a great idea. I’ll be stopping by later on. I haven’t made the rounds in quite some time.

You’re great on IG! You’ll probably find some familiar faces if you check out some of the people I’m following. You can find it by looking at my profile.

I love the summer dress idea… starting to get the hang of that one and buying more. I’m usually not a dress person… but a cute summer dress and flip=flops make life a lot easier!!! I’m also addicted to Netflix, for the kids and my own sanity.

Marina, What a fantastic list! Love the DVR and Netflix—perfect for catching up on Friends and Friday Night Lights (never understood why this wasn’t a bigger hit–who doesn’t love Kyle Chandler??). We have so many similar likes that now I am going to check out Shazam. Can’t wait for the magic. Thanks! Erin
